Hey y'all! I'm going to try and keep up this online blog as a way to keep everyone posted about what's happening down here. I've tried these before and haven't been successful, but I'll do my best. It helps when you leave comments, or you can shoot me e-mails, so I know you're out there!
As you all know, I've made it back to Texas. I arrived on Monday, October 27. I had one day before I started my new job. So that day after I got here, I went apartment hunting, trying to find something in a safe area, near my friends in Arlington, close to work in Las Colinas, and something I could afford. Katie and I had been in town the weekend before and she very nicely drove me around the area I was considering moving into to. We looked at several apartments and I liked a few of them. When I looked after getting to town, I found some that Katie and I had missed, and really liked them. They are a good price, quiet, safe, and only about 15 minutes from work. So I signed on the dotted line and had a new home...it would take about a week before I got it, but I was just happy to soon have something. My apartments are Centreport Landing Apartments, and in case you don't have it, my new address is:
14713 Centreport Landing Cir., #1008
Fort Worth, TX. 76155
I spent that first week staying w/ my old roommate, Daniel. I started work on the 29th, which was very exciting, but kind of challenging too. I think you all know where I'm working, I'm not allowed to say on this blog, but I work in a very large world retailer, and my responsibility is to train all of our associates. So in order to do that, I have to know what most everyone does, so there's a huge learning curve there. After a few weeks now of watching and observing and trying to understand it all, I think I'm finally getting it. I taught my first class last week, and have 2 more this Thursday. So it's been kind of slow getting into things, but I think it will just get better from here on out.
Other than work, I've just been hanging out w/ friends, and really enjoying being back in the area. I live just north of Arlington, where a few good friends live, so I've got to see them quite a bit and catch up. It's been very cool driving through Arlington, seeing where I used to school, going back to some of my favorite restaurants and places to hang out, and seeing all the growth here.
It feels great to be here, but I definitely miss Little Rock. Arkansas is a beautiful place and North Texas is ugly and flat!! However the big Texas sky is awesome! My favorite thing to do has been to sit out on my balcony at night and look up at the big sky and stars and watch the planes land (I practically live at the D/FW airport).
I'm hoping to get some pictures up here soon. I hope you enjoyed reading...please check back every so often.
love y'all - jonathan

Hi Jonathan. I tried to post a comment and I don't think it went through so I am checking with this.
Well, that comment worked. Looks like it wouldn't accept it until Google e-mailed me and I verified it.
Your blog is a great idea. I have been wondering if you were getting settled. Mike bought firewood yesterday so I think I will enjoy a fire tonight.
I wish I could come visit you sometime soon! I miss Texas and having you around! Don't forget to call me once in awhile!
